Beyonce Knowles-Did You Know?

The American singer and actress Beyonce Giselle Knowles-Carter was born on September 4, 1981.Daughter of parents Mathew Knowles (father) and Tina Knowles (mother), Beyonce is a resident of Texas.
As a child she used to perform in many singing and dancing competitions. In the late 1990s, Beyonce and her R&B group “Destiny’s Child” rose to fame with Beyonce as their vocal lead. Since then, she has never had to turn back. The group became one of the world’s most popular girl groups in many years. However, disagreements among the group in later years led to its disintegration. Although, for her song “Crazy in Love”, Beyonce had anyways become worldwide known by then.
Beyonce is immensely famous for her other songs like  “Run the World”, “Single Ladies (Put a Ring on It), “Halo”, “Flawless”, “Irreplaceable” and innumerable more.  She is also appreciated as a dancer and performer. She has also proved her mettle as an actress in movies like ‘Carmen: A Hip Hopera’ (2001), ‘Dreamgirls’ (2006), and some more.
Beyonce’s award list is one to look at! She won 20 Grammy Awards setting the record for the most Grammy awards won by a female artist in one night in 2010 when she won six awards. She has also been nominated for her acting at the Golden Globe Awards and NAACP Image Awards.
Beyonce married the American rapper Jay Z in 2008 and they have a daughter named Blue Ivy Carter.
Beyonce is also known as a philanthropist and feminist. One of the major charity she has worked for is the Survivor Foundation for giving shelter for victims after the massive attack of Hurricane Katrina  in 2005. She has also worked with the US First Lady Michelle Obama for the campaign working for child obesity. Her charity works have reached many other needy faces as well.
